About me

Born and raised in the region of Mühlviertel (Upper Austria), technology has always interested me. Even at a young age, when I swapped the Duplo Toolo tool for a real wrench to remove the training wheels from my bicycle myself, my affinity for all things technical became apparent. These technical refinements naturally gave me considerable advantages over the young boys in the neighborhood. Learning to understand things always drove me, and what I was later taught as “reverse engineering” I had known for some time as “take it apart and see how it works”.
After graduating from high school, I wanted to satisfy this thirst for knowledge on an academic level. I was drawn to the federal capital. Here I was able to learn the first theoretical basics at the Vienna University of Technology. After the practical drive, i.e. the meanwhile “calculating, assembling, looking and hoping that it works”, however, reached far beyond the mere calculating on the white A4 sheets of paper of the everyday university life there, the change to the practice-oriented teaching at the FH Technikum Wien was very soon obvious.
In addition to this career, it was always important for me to get a balance from my desk or the workshop. Sport in all its diversity plays an important role here. In addition to city classics like various courses and bouldering, I was and still am drawn to the mountains and the sea at regular intervals. From mountaineering, mountain biking, climbing, via ferrata, to paragliding, there are probably few alpine activities that I have missed so far. For a few years now, I have been taking advantage of the wind and weather not only to paraglide for hours over the mountain peaks, but also to sail boats over the sea. As a skipper I can not only enjoy this fascinating locomotion, but I can also challenge and promote teamwork in new crew constellations again and again. Especially the fascinating project “Peace Fleet Mirno More” has also shown me how important it is to be appreciative towards people who perceive our world differently. The special joie de vivre that I was able to observe and even expand at times with my resources is an important experience for me that I would definitely not want to miss.
But also activities in the cultural sector have provided perspectives beyond “calculating and assembling”. In addition to my studies, my work at the HOANZL agency or at the local stage and cinema in Freistadt has resulted in contacts with artists. Their special view of things and the world has and will always accompany me in the future in my profession as a technician.
The fact that the Mühlviertel also captivated me as a member of the local brass band in my younger years should only be mentioned in passing.
As important and fascinating as technology is for me, it is also important for me to look beyond the end of my nose, because I believe that this can provide enormous input into my work.
